Blues Music Award: опубликован список претендентов на «Премию блюза» в 2013
«Фонд блюза» (The Blues Foundation) огласил список номинантов на 34-ю ежегодную «Премию блюза» (Blues Music Awards), которую вручат в Мемфисе 9 мая. Примечательно, что, судя по числу номинаций, жюри отдало предпочтение лидерам современного блюза, проигнорированным премией «Грэмми». Например, в фаворитах «Фонда блюза» Joe Bonamassa (3 номинации) и Janiva Magness, выдвинутая здесь в пяти категориях с альбомом «Stronger for It»!
С другой стороны, проявляется другая традиционная особенность Blues Music Awards: в её шорт-листе традиционно доминируют артисты крупных лейблов, в первую очередь, от Alligator Records. Не вызывает сомнения качество артистов-номинантов, однако очевидно, что за бортом при таком отборе остаются сильные музыканты, звукозаписывающие компании которых не имеют соответствующих PR-ресурсов и рычагов лоббирования в индустрии блюза.
Хотя президент «Фонда» Jay Sieleman в пресс-релизе выделяет таблицу «Best New Artist», она едва ли впечатлит наших поклонников блюза. Заметна также симпатия «Фонда блюза» к определенному кругу раскрученных музыкантов, имена которых повторяются из года в год.

посвящённое 30-летию выхода (1983) этого диска Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
+ бонусы (песня Tin Pan Alley) и диск с выступлением в Филадельфии в октябре 1983.
